About Me
I am Luciana Vazquez, founder and director of WENS. I have been working for over 15 years specializing in Biosafety and Biocustody; I enjoy new challenges and pushing my own limits.
I am a Hygiene and Safety Technician, certified by IFBA (International Federation of Biosafety Associations) in Biological Risk Management, trained at the Eagleson Institute in the USA, being the first woman from Latin America to obtain NSF advanced accreditation as a Biological Safety Cabinet Field Certifier, and the only one from the Ministry of Health in our country.
My Footprint
I am a member of the second cohort of the Biosafety Diplomacy Workshop for Young Scientists from the Global South organized by the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs.
Participations
I participate in international Biosafety committees and in the Biosafety and Biocustody Subcommittee of the Argentine Association of Microbiology.

I have worked for over 15 years in Level 2, 3, and Animal Level 3 Biocontainment Laboratories, actively participating in health emergency response groups.
Biocontainment Cases and Health Emergency Response
Currently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, we visited all National Reference Laboratories in the 23 provinces of our country, advising on Biocontainment conditions.
